Long Drive
My Files
How It Works

From your browser to Arweave in four simple steps

Long Drive encrypts and stores your files directly on the Arweave permanent network. No monthly subscription, no account required to start.

01Select your file

Choose any file up to 100 KB and it stays free forever. Larger files are stored with a one-time fee based on the current Arweave network cost.

Everything happens in your browser — no server ever sees your file content.

02Encrypt in your browser (optional)

Long Drive can encrypt your file with AES-256-GCM before it leaves your device. Your password becomes the key.

This means even Long Drive itself cannot read an encrypted file. If you lose the password, the file cannot be recovered by anyone — keep it safe.

03Upload to Arweave

Your file is uploaded and packed into a permanent data transaction on the Arweave network. A one-time storage fee covers roughly 200 years of availability.

Files under 100 KB are uploaded through the free tier and never cost anything.

04Receive your transaction ID and verify

After upload you get a transaction ID (txID), a permanent URL, and a file hash. You can verify your data on the public Arweave network at any time.

Share the permanent link — it never expires.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to upload?

You can start with just an email login to manage your files. For the free tier no wallet is required.

What happens if I lose my encryption password?

If you encrypted a file and lose the password, the file cannot be decrypted — not even by Long Drive. Store your password and recovery key safely.

What does "permanent" really mean?

Arweave is a decentralized network where storage is paid upfront into an endowment. The network is designed to preserve data for centuries.
